This week the Annual General Assembly (AGM) was held at Brooklands Pavilion. At the AGM we welcome new and existing members of the committee as well as supporters and volunteers from the previous year. Nominated and Seconded this year to stand as a member of the committee are:

Katie Bannister, Jake Talbot, George Taylor, Hannah Hurling, Ruth Maxy, Lesley Thelwell, Sonal Agarwal, Becky Waller Mark Sarll, Peter Simpson-Leek.

We also receive each year reflections from the Chair in his report:

In October 2017 a group of volunteers from across Broughton and Brooklands came together for the first Annual General Meeting of the Broughton and Brooklands Community Connectors. The previous year the Inaugural meeting formed the committee and in 2017 the second was formed. In that year we have seen the pool of volunteers and committee members grow. We welcomed new committee members Emma Germain, Steph Smith, Paul Santi-Jones, Sonal Agarwel, Becky Waller, Rosanne Curran, Katie Bannister, George Taylor and Jake Talbot.

Not only did our people grow, but so did our events. In January we began our collaboration with the Parks Trust and Places for People to deliver monthly litter picking events.

Over the summer we worked again with MK Play Association,  Community Action MK and Broughton Cycling Group to bring the community a range of Family Fun Days. We have even spread events over the V11 into Middleton and Oakgrove.

And in September we launched the new series of evening events, Friday Night Dinner Presents, with thanks to Brooklands Farm Primary, who generously donate their space to us each month.

As well as increasing income this year through Family Fun Days, we cannot forgot Community Foundation, Milton Keynes and Broughton Parish Council and Councillor Sam Crooks for their financial donations to the group.

At any AGM we should also thank everyone who has donated their time to meetings, events, even leaflet drops, without the volunteers who invest their time in our community, as we wouldn’t and couldn’t operate without you.

Over the last year, we have reached more, worked with more and impacted more people ‘s lives across Broughton and Brooklands, and I’m sure we can all agree we want this to continue for 2019.
