This summer we celebrated the fact we were able to host in person. events again. Among them we had three family fun days run in collaboration with Xtra Special Families, T-shirt printing workshops and two pond dipping events with the Parks Trust. Summer proves easier for more covid safe events as we have more opportunities to be outdoors and this year used Broughton Fields School while the Community Pavilions remained closed.
We also saw a raft of new volunteers for all of our events which was great to see! Moving out of summer we want to keep up momentum with events and connections. We are currently working closely with the Parish Council on starting a a new initiative for young people in a Youth Cafe for the area. We’ve also been supporting former Community Award nominee Claire and Keeping Kids Off The Streets, new boxing initiative, which we are really excited about launching.
Talking of awards, we’ve launched the opportunity for more people in our area to be celebrated as we bring back the Community Awards for 2021. It will be the third annual event of it’s type, and looking forward to it being back in person.
Keep checking back for more updates as we hope for a fantastic Autumn in Broughton and Brooklands.
